The Organisation and the pilots.
Bateleur Aviation was founded in 1991 by Bruce Abbott.
The main aim is to facilitate quality flying training on a one to one basis. Bateleur Aviation is a CAA registered training organisation and follows the European (EASA) flight training syllabi. Bruce exceeded fifteen thousand flying instruction hours across many areas of flying some time ago; he is also a very experienced SEP and MEP EXAMINER. He instructs on Single and Multi-engine aircraft. Bruce has experience training in tricycle and tailwheel aircraft (SEP and MEP), night flying, instrument flying, aerobatics and formation flying.
Bruce also teaches PPL theory and IMC theory. He taught modules in a B.Sc. course in Aviation Management and Operations at London Metropolitan University from 2001 to 2013.
After 25 years using Headcorn Aerodrome as the main base Bruce has moved to Devon but still operates on a freelance basis at any aerodrome that approves the training or testing. Bateleur Aviation is registered at Damyns Hall aerodrome. Bruce now conducts training and flight tests all along the South of the U.K. from Lands End to Margate
