The Organisation and the pilots.
Bateleur Aviation was founded in 1991 by Bruce Abbott.
The Aim is to facilitate quality flying training on a one to one basis. Bateleur Aviation is a CAA registered training organisation and follows the European (EASA) flight training syllabi.
The Chief Flying Instryuctor, Bruce, exceeded fifteen thousand flying instruction hours across many areas of flying some time ago; he is also a very experienced SEP and MEP EXAMINER. He instructs on Single and Multi-engine aircraft. Bruce has experience training in tricycle and tailwheel aircraft (SEP and MEP), night flying, instrument flying, aerobatics and formation flying.
Bruce also teaches PPL theory and IMC theory. He taught modules in a B.Sc. course in Aviation Management and Operations at London Metropolitan University from 2001 to 2013.
Bruce is available to accompany qualified pilots on routes all over Europe and beyond. He has extensive experience flying throughout Europe in light aircraft and has flown to many destinations including Lanzarote.
Cornwall and Devon. Bruce is based at Bodmin Aerodrome where he is CFI of Cornwall Flying Club, and also operates on a freelance basis at any aerodrome that approves the training or testing. Bruce also flies regularly at Eggesford Aerodrome, an Auster centre. Bruce travels all over the UK and Europe to conduct flight tests. Bateleur Aviation is registered at Bodmin Aerodrome. Bruce regularly conducts training and flight tests all along the South of the U.K. from Lands End to Margate and is also a designated MEP examiner at Lydd Aeroclub and EFG at Biggin Hill
